MAYVILLE – The Jamestown Post-Journal is reporting Thursday that assistant Chautauqua County District Attorney John Zuroski will assume the role of DA on January 1, 2016.
Zuroski will be designated as acting district attorney by outgoing DA David Foley, who will become the next Chautauqua County court judge in January. Foley was elected to that position last week, filling the seat that was vacated by retired judge John Ward.
Zuroski’s designation will continue until either Governor Andrew Cuomo appoints an interim DA or until the 2016 general election, when county residents will have the opportunity to elect the next DA.
