BPU TO VOTE ON BUDGET LATER THIS MONTH
JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities won’t be making any significant rate increase for its customers in 2012. That’s according to a report in Today’s Jamestown Post-Journal, which says three out of the four utility budget proposals call for no rate increase, although the Water division is looking at a couple of options, including a 3.25 percent increase. If such an increase too effect, it would impact the average customer’s bill by about 42 cents each month. The other option is to postpone the new rate until after 2012, wherein the division would accept a $111,000 net loss next year.
