JAMESTOWN – A woman who’s devoted her time and energy to preserving and increasing the number of old growth forests in the United States will be in Jamestown next week.
Dr. Joan Maloof is the Founder and Director of the Old-Growth Forest Network, a nonprofit organization creating a network of forests across the US that will remain forever unlogged and open to the public.
Roger Tory Peterson Institute will host a talk and book signing by Dr. Maloof a week from today on Tuesday, September 8.
Maloof will focus on how can we stop the downward spiral of the Earth’s forests and she will share stories from her research and travels. She will also discuss the Old-Growth Forest Network.
Light refreshments will be provided compliments of Chris Merchant from Mariner’s Express. Book signing will follow immediately after the talk.
This event will take place at 7 p.m. in the Carnahan Theater at JCC and is free and open to the public. If you would like to attend the talk, please contact Amy Hudson at (716) 665-2473×227 or ahudson@rtpi.org for details.
