JAMESTOWN – The area has had a break from winter the past several days but that will soon change starting later Thursday.
The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Allegany Counties… including the city of Jamestown… from 7 p.m. Thursday until 1 p.m. on Friday.
According to the warning, heavy snow is expected with total snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches possible through Friday afternoon.
Travel will be very difficult to impossible on some roadways, including during the morning commute on Friday. Significant reductions in visibility are possible.
Gusty winds and wet heavy snow could also cause tree branches to fall.
