JAMESTOWN – Wind chill advisory remains in effect until noon Friday and a winter weather advisory is effect from 2 p.m. Friday until 7 p.m. Saturday for most of Western New York.
According to the National Weather Service, from Friday afternoon through Saturday evening, residents will see cold temperatures and snowfall ranging anywhere from 2 to 4 inches, with local amounts of up to 6 inches possible across the higher terrain. In addition, the chill values could be as low as 15 below Friday morning and as low as 20 below on Saturday. As a result, prolonged exposure may result in frostbite and or hypothermia.
Snow and blowing snow tonight and Saturday will cause significant reductions to visibilities and snow covered roads, once again resulting in very difficult travel conditions across the area. Motorists are advised to use caution when out driving Friday night and Saturday morning.
