JAMESTOWN – The Lake Effect Snow Warning issued by the National Weather Service remains in effect until 6 am Wednesday and a Wind Chill Warning remains in effect until 6 pm tonight.
According to meteorologists, the Lake Effect Snow warning mostly applies to the extreme northern areas of Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties with heavy lake effect snow and blowing snow expected for today. Anywhere from 10 to 15 inches of additional snow could fall today in those areas.
For the rest of the county, the Wind Chill will once again be a major factor, making temperatures feel as cold as 35 below zero at times. Dangerously cold wind chills will pose a risk for frost bite and hypothermia for anyone outside for even very short periods of time.
