JAMESTOWN – Sam’s Club in West Ellicott closed its doors on Friday for the final time.
The store, which opened nearly 20 years ago at 720 W. Fairmount Ave., was one of the dozens that Walmart officials announced would be closing earlier this month.
The store employed an estimated 140 individuals, who company officials say were given to option to stay on board and transfer to other Sam’s club stores, as well as Walmart.
An equipment auction will take place in late April or early May.
