MAYVILLE – There’s a new chairman for the Chautauqua County Legislature.
On Tuesday the legislature held its re-organizational meeting for the new term, with Lakewood Republican Paul “PJ” Wendel being appointed to serve as legislature chairman. Wendall will take over the role that was held by David Himelein (R-Findley Lake) for much of the past year.
Wendall had previously served as the legislature’s majority leader. With his move to chairman of the legislature, the new majority leader will be Bemus Point Republican Pierre Chagnon.
Jamestown Democrat Chuck Nazzaro was designated as the legislature’s minority leader.
