FREWSBURG, NY – The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating the owner of a drone that crashed into a communication tower in the Town of Carrol.
According to a media release, a radio tower technician discovered a drone that had apparently impacted one of the county’s communication towers located at the Tom Erlandson Overview Park on Oak Hill Rd. in Frewsburg. The drone was discovered on Wednesday, March 9.
Upon further investigation the data card indicated the flight and gave clues as to actual date of accident (8/17/2015 at approx. 8 p.m.) and partial identifying features of the owner and his vehicle.
If the owner or public recognize the operator, please to contact the sheriff’s office so they can return drone to the rightful owner.
