JAMESTOWN – United Way of Southern Chautauqua County has reached 36 percent of its $1,300,000 Annual Campaign goal through the end of October.
With two full months remaining, many workplace campaigns are just beginning.
“We have had an overwhelming number of requests for presentations at local worksites,” said Hans Auer, 2015 Campaign Chair. “United Way staff and volunteers have been busy meeting with employee groups of local organizations from small to large. These companies and their employees are the economic engine of our community and to see their willingness to pay it forward by supporting the United Way is energizing.”
Making face-to-face presentations was one of the goals for the 2015 effort.
“We want to get in front of as many potential and loyal donors as we can,” Auer said. “United Way remains a well-recognized brand that many younger employees don’t fully understand. By delivering a face-to-face message, we believe we can educate people about United Way and the programming it supports right here in our community.”
This year’s campaign theme is focused on United Way of Southern Chautauqua County’s strategic objectives: families are self-sufficient, everyone is ready to work, young people succeed in school and people in need can find help.
“The most important fact we share is that 100 percent of the donations remain right here in southern Chautauqua County,” stated Tory Irgang, Executive Director. “Those dollars are under the oversight of our local Board of Directors. While a small portion of every dollar supports management and fundraising, the vast majority is invested in community programs that have a measurable impact in our community.”
“We encourage everyone to visit www.uwayscc.org to view the campaign video. It sheds light on United Way for those who have heard of the organization but aren’t quite sure what it does,” said Auer. “Anyone with questions or interest in hosting a presentation should contact our United Way office today.”
