JAMESTOWN – Officials with the Chautauqua County Airport in Jamestown are looking for a new air service provider.
The Jamestown Post-Journal is reporting today that United Airlines has announced it will permanently cancel the majority of its flights out of Cleveland’s Hopkins International Airport – which include those that travel to and from Jamestown. The flights will stop in June of this year.
The news comes weeks after Senator Charles Schumer came to Jamestown to promote the need for continued air service in the area.
Today’s article says that County Airport manager Sam Arcadipane is already working to locate another air service provider to fly in and out of Jamestown – possibly via Washington, D.C., Detroit, Buffalo or Albany.
