Two Teens Sent to Hospital Following Car-Pedestrian Accident in Jamestown

October 21, 2014 By WRFA Radio Leave a Comment

Jamestown Police BadgeJAMESTOWN – A Jamestown area teenager is in Buffalo’s Women’s and Children’s Hospital Tuesday morning recovering from injuries after being hit by a car Monday afternoon on the north side of the city.

Jamestown police say two teenagers were struck by a vehicle near the intersection of North Main and Eighth Streets just before 1 p.m. Monday. Police did not release the identities of the teens, but did say they were both females and that one was 13 and the other was 16.

According to police, a vehicle was traveling south on Main Street toward the intersection with Eighth St. The light was green and the vehicle was approaching the intersection when the two teens reportedly stepped out in front of the oncoming vehicle and were hit. Police say the teens were not using the crosswalk and were not crossing with the light.

Police say the unidentified 13 year-old was seriously injured and was taken by Star Flight to the Buffalo for treatment of injuries. The unidentified 16 year-old was sent to WCA, treated and released.

The investigation is continuing and police are asking anyone with information into the incident to call them at 483-7537.
