JAMESTOWN – Two Jamestown residents face drug related charges following an investigation into the trafficking of heroin.
Jamestown Police Captain Robert Samuelson says 34 year-old Misha Gonzalez and 37 year old Juan Valasquez-Rodriguez were arrested Monday following the execution of a search warrant at 1094 E. Second St. The warrant was issued after an investigation revealed heroin was allegedly being sold from the home.
Inside the home investigators found more than 400 envelopes of heroin, 50 capsules filled with powder cocaine and drug packaging material.
Five children, ranging in age from 1 to 9, were also inside the home.
Gonzalez and Valasquez-Rodriguez were both charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, one count of criminal possession of drug paraphernalia and five counts of endangering the welfare of a child. The two were scheduled to be arraigned in city court on Tuesday.
This was at least the second heroin-related arrest for Valasquez-Rodriguez in less than a year. He was also arrested in May 2015 after leading police on a chase through the city, with officers finding 50 bags of heroin in his vehicle.
