DUNKIRK – Authorities in the north county have arrested two Dunkirk men on drug charges following a two-month-long investigation into the trafficking of cocaine.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office says an investigation by the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force led to the arrest of 26 year-old Michael Pacheco of Dunkirk and 29 year-old Fred Santiago.
Pacheco was arrested following a traffic stop that resulted in the discovery of nearly 5 ounces of cocaine. Santiago was arrested after police used a search warrant for his residence at 80 Lincoln Ave., where authorities seized approximately 28.5 ounces of cocaine. The street value of all drugs seized was reportedly $50,000.
Both men face felony-related drug charges. Pacheco was sent to the county jail on $150,000 cash bail. Santiago sent to the county jail without bail.
Additional charges and arrests are expected.
