JAMESTOWN – The Resource Center’s comprehensive employee health program has been honored by a Buffalo business magazine as being one of Western New York’s healthiest employers.
The Resource Center was one of four companies to win first place in Business First’s sixth annual Healthiest Employers awards. TRC earned top honors among large employers (those having 250 to 999 full-time employees).
The Resource Center’s employee wellness program has been in existence since 2013, when TRC rolled out its System Transformation with Accountability, Results and Satisfaction (or STARS) health care model.
STARS is designed to help employees develop and sustain a healthier lifestyle. The program accomplishes this by addressing the needs of the whole person in five key life areas: basic needs, physical health, employment, behavioral health, and family/social.
“I am so pleased that all of the hard work and dedicated efforts of the STARS wellness team and TRC’s employees have paid off,” said Heather C. Brown, assistant executive director, in response to TRC’s award as one of the region’s healthiest employers. “We have created an environment at TRC where wellness is key and each member of our team is encouraged to be well in all areas of their life. It is exciting to be recognized for all that has been accomplished to date, and we are looking forward to many new ideas and opportunities as this program continues to develop and grow.”
The awards were presented May 26 at the Hyatt Regency in Buffalo. Healthiest Employers, a technology and data research firm, tabulated the winners by scoring the companies’ employee wellness programs. There were a total of 31 companies in the four categories (small, medium, large, and extra large). The Resource Center also was a finalist in last year’s Healthiest Employers competition.
