JAMESTOWN – The music of the Grateful Dead will come to life with a concert from Dark Star Orchestra on Friday, Nov. 15, and tickets are still available for this spectacular show.
Continuing a long and strange trip since humble beginnings over a decade ago, Dark Star Orchestra’s determined commitment to ‘raising the Dead’ has drawn nationwide attention. Offering a continually evolving artistic outlet within the Grateful Dead’s musical canon, members of Dark Star Orchestra seek out the unique style of each performance era and offer their own interpretations and improvisations at each show. Using entire set lists from the Grateful Dead’s decades of touring as a launching pad, Dark Star Orchestra recreates song for song performances straight from the set list of these historic shows.
Reg Lenna Center For The Arts and Southern Tier Brewing Company have teamed up to present this first show as part of a new Live Series.
“Community collaboration is key to the success of ‘the Reg’ as a vital center for performing arts.”, remarked Len Barry, Program Coordinator and Interim Marketing Associate.
Southern Tier Brewing Company’s recent “Brewer For A Day” event resulted in the creation of a one-of-a-kind beer that will only be sold during the Dark Star Orchestra concert. “Casey Jones”, a beer brewed with green coffee beans, will have an inaugural tapping at the Reg Lenna Center For The Arts before the show.
All seats for Dark Star Orchestra are $35 and can be purchased at the Reg box office, by calling 716-484-7070 or by visiting reglenna.com. Reg Lenna Center For The Arts is located at 116 East Third Street in Jamestown, New York.
Funding for the concert is made possible by support from Gebbie Foundation and Ralph C. Sheldon Foundation.
