Jamestown police have arrested two men for their alleged connection to a burglary and arson that took place late Thursday afternoon in the city.

According to a police report, police and fire officials investigated a fire that broke out at 19 Pearl St. on Thursday at about 5:15 p.m. Police say the investigation revealed that two individuals unlawfully entered the upper apartment at the address and caused damage before leaving and walking away. The investigation also found that the apartment was allegedly set on fire by the two men before the left.

Both the upper apartment and attic of the residence were soon fully involved in a fire and the home was severely damaged. Fire crews were able to get it under control within 20 minutes of arrival. No injuries were reported.

City police able to determine the residence was allegedly burglarized and set on fire by 30-year-old Jimmy Graves and 25-year-old Jonathon Fields, both of Jamestown. A 16-year-old suspect from Buffalo was also arrested and charged. Each faces a charge of 2nd degree Burglary and 3rd degree Criminal Mischief. A charge of 2nd degree arson for all three suspects is also pending.

The three were to be arraigned and then sent to the county jail.
