JAMESTOWN – City police arrested three people on drug charges Tuesday afternoon following an investigation into the trafficking of heroin into the area.
According to a media release from the Jamestown Police Department, city police and New York State Police were able to obtain a search warrant for an apartment at 241 Crescent St. in Jamestown. Police say prior to searching the home, investigators saw a male and a female leave the apartment in a vehicle. The two were stopped, and investigators say they found a large quantity of heroin and cash. Arrested were 27 year-old Jensen Vazquez and 22 year-old Selana Hare. Following the arrest of the two individuals, members of the JPD then entered the apartment at 241 Crescent St. and arrested a third person – 25 year-old Janelle Cornelius.
All three suspects were charged with 3rd degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class B Felony. Additionally, Vasquez was wanted for parole violation. All three were sent to the city jail and will be arraigned in city court.
Police also say the investigation into drug trafficking in the Jamestown area is ongoing, and more arrests are expected. Anyone with information on the sale or possession of illegal narcotics can call city polie at 483-Tips (8477). All calls will be kept confidential.
