MAYVILLE – Three people were charged Friday after allegedly encouraging a 23-month-old boy to smoke marijuana.
According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, the boy’s parents – 17-year-old Jessica Kelsey and 18-year-old George Kelsey – along with 54-year-old Donald Baker, allegedly committed the act on Dec. 5 inside their Mayville residence.
An investigation by the Sheriff’s Office, the Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office and the Chautauqua County Child Protective Services led to all three individuals being charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child.
They are currently in Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 property.
The boy, along with another sibling, is in the care of child protective services.
