JAMESTOWN – Three city residents were arrested Wednesday after being caught by police with six pounds of marijuana that was allegedly sent to them through he U.S. Postal Service.
The bust was the culmination of a joint investigation between police and the post office, which occasionally scans packages for illegal drugs and detected the presence of marijauana. The origin of the package was from Texas and was to be sent to an address at 352 Foote Ave.
Postal inspectors conducted a controlled delivery of the package and after it was dropped off at the residence and taken into the home, authorities raided the home with a warrant and arrested three individuals inside.
Jamestown Police Department say 31 year-old Kelvin Thomas, 30 year-old Saran Best, and 22 year-old Iesha Strudwick all face drug related charges and will be arraigned today in city court.
