JAMESTOWN – City police have arrested a teen after he allegedly pulled a knife on a member of the New York State Police.
According to Jamestown Police, a plain clothes investigator from the State Police saw an altercation in the parking lot of Jamestown High School between several youths on Friday at about 11:50 a.m.
The officer approached the group and identified himself as a police officer.
The group dispersed but one of the youths was later identified as a 13 year-old male, who is not a student of Jamestown High School. The 13 year-old allegedly displayed a pocket knife toward the officer. The officer was able to disarm the youth and was able to control the situation with the assistance of officers from the Jamestown Police Department.
The 13 year-old was taken into custody and has since been turned over to a parent. The youth is facing multiple charges, including menacing and weapons charges and will be sent to family court. The name of the 13 year-old will not be released, due to his age.
