JAMESTOWN – A report outlining possible ways to reduce spending and create more efficiency in city government is expected to be presented today at city hall.
At the end of 2014 following the annual budget process, Jamestown Mayor Sam Teresi created a the Joint Task Force on Efficiency and Cost Reduction in an effort to look at 35 possible cost-saving proposals that have been presented to the city in recent years.
The task force consists of city and Jamestown Board of Public Utilities officials – including members of the city council. City councilman and finance committee chairman Tony Dolce is the chair of the committee and is responsible for finalizing the report and delivering it to the mayor and the full city council.
The task force has met a total of five times since January. The report will be delivered to Mayor Teresi today.
The Jamestown city council does not have a meeting scheduled for tonight. It’s first work session of April will take place next Monday, April 13.
