MAYVILLE – Jury selection in the Anthony Robert Taglianetti trial is now complete. Two alternates were seated Thursday to round out the 12-person jury and its four alternates. Taglianetti is accused of fatally shooting Clymer Public School superintendent Keith Reed, Jr. in September 2012.
Jury selection lasted for nearly a month and included an effort by public defender Ned Barone to move the trial to another location because of the difficulty in selecting an unbiased jury here in Chautauqua County. The motion was turned down earlier this week by a state appellite court in Rochester.
Opening statements for the trial will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
