ROCHESTER – A judge in Rochester has ruled that the trial for the man accused of shooting and killing the superintendent of Clymer Central School will stay in Chautauqua County.
On Wednesday, an appellate court in Rochester ruled against a defense motion for a change of venue in the murder trial of Anthony R. Taglianetti II. Chautauqua County public defender Ned Barone wanted to move the trial because of the publicity the case has received in Chautauqua County, saying it has been difficult to find 12 jurors and four alternates to hear the case. Taglianetti is accused of killing Clymer Schools superintendent Keith Reed, Jr. in September 2012.
Meanwhile in Mayville, the court seated six more people Wednesday to fill the 12-person jury. Two alternates were also picked. Two more alternates still need to be picked with selection continuing today.
