FREDONIA – Acting Chautauqua County District Attorney Patrick Swanson announced on Thursday that he will be seeking a four-year term in the Nov. 8, 2016 General Election.
Swanson was appointed as acting DA at the start of this year when former DA David Foley left the post to become Chautauqua County Court judge.
Swanson is a native of Sherman and currently lives in Fredonia with his wife and 2 children. In his campaign announcement, he said the majority of his legal experience is in the area of criminal law. He received his law degree from the University of Memphis Law School. He’s worked as an assistant DA in Chautauqua County for five years prior to being appointed acting DA.
Swanson is a registered Democrat. It’s not known if he will have any challengers for the election.
