MAYVILLE – The Jamestown man accused of killing his wife and stepson in a 2015 double homicide made an appearance in court on Thursday.
The Post-Journal is reporting 54-year-old Allen Witruke appeared in court for a pretrial hearing involving testimony on evidence that was collected during the investigation.
On Dec. 8, 2015, Witrike was arrested and charged with the deaths of 52 year old Catherine Witruke and her son, 34 year-old Eric Washburn at the family’s home at 235 Barrows St. in Jamestown. He’s accused of using blunt force trauma on one of the victims and stabbing both of them multiple times. He was picked up later that day in the city of Olean.
Witruke faces two counts of first-degree manslaughter. He was originally charged with two counts of second-degree murder.
Jury selection for Witruke’s trial is scheduled to begin May 9.
