ALBANY – There’s a new rule on the books regarding sex offenders who register on the New York State sex offender registry. Under a recently signed law, the registry will now display multiple photographs of convicted sex offenders, in an effort to make offenders more recognizable to law enforcement personnel and the public.
State officials say multiple photographs will help ensure residents and law enforcement are being provided the most accurate and up-to-date information on offenders living in the state.
The state sex offender registry can be found online at www.criminaljustice.ny.gov/nsor.
