CLYMER – Local and State Police are investigating the robbery that took place Tuesday afternoon in Clymer. The New York State Police says a woman in her late 20s allegedly robbed the Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union in Clymer at about 4:20 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. Police says the woman walked into the credit union and showed a bank teller a note demanding money. No weapon was used.
The suspect is described as having a small build, between 5 feet, 2 inches and 5 feet, 4 inches, weighing approximately 130 pounds. She was described as wearing a red and dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, work boots and sunglasses, along with “fake” facial hair. There was no description of the getaway vehicle, though she was believed to have fled north.
Police are currently reviewing surveillance tapes and will be releasing more details as they are available. If anyone has any information regarding the crime, they should call the New York State Police at 665-3113.
