JAMESTOWN – It’s a Halloween movie double header Friday night in downtown Jamestown with two classic films being shown at two different locations.
PHANTOM OF THE OPERA at ST. LUKE’S
A special Halloween showing of the original 1925 version of the silent film, “The Phantom of the Opera” will be presented Friday at 7 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
The event will include live organ accompaniment by Jack Bollman, Organist at St. Stephen’s Church in Olean, NY.
There will also be activities for children downstairs in the church’s Undercroft during the movie, including a special ‘Haunted Boiler Room’ as well as crafts and games. Refreshments will be served.
There is no cost for the event, but a free-will offering will be collected. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to help support the James Prendergast Library Association.
ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW at REG LENNA
Later Friday night the Reg Lenna Center for The Arts will screen the campy cult classic film, The Rocky Horror Picture Show at 10 p.m. Admission is $5.
The screening will be a full participation party with patrons encouraged to dress as their favorite character or in a Halloween costume. Props that audience can bring include toilet paper, small squirt guns, rice, flashlights, newspapers and more.
