IRVING – A Silver Creek man was sent to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after he was struck by a vehicle while riding his bike on a busy north county roadway.
Chautauqua County Sheriff Deputies say the incident took place just before 4:15 p.m. on Route 5 and 20 in Irving. The say 58 year-old David Sodaro was on a bicycle traveling east in the westbound passing lane.
Sodaro attempted to cross over the roadway and onto the eastbound lane and was unable to make to the shoulder of the roadway before being hit by a westbound vehicle being driven by 34 year-old Michael Christian of Forestville. Sodaro was transported to Lakeshore Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.
No charges were filed against Christian.
