SILVER CREEK – The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s office is cautioning the public about a suspicious individual who approached a student walking near Silver Creek Central School Wednesday afternoon.
Deputies say that just before 4 p.m. Wednesday a female youth was walking on Bennett State Road when a motorist pulled up and offered her a ride. The student did not enter the vehicle and continued walking away. A Sheriff’s patrol units arrived on scene shortly after and checked the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.
The motorist is described as 50-60 years old white male, wearing glasses with white hair with a mustache and having an average build. The vehicle is described as being a dark green SUV/Jeep style vehicle.
Deputies say that while no criminal activity took place, they still want to caution the public of the described vehicle and individual. Residents are also asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office or your local police department if suspicious activity is observed.
