CHERRY CREEK – The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office has identified the skeletal remains that were found earlier this month in the Boutwell Hill State Forest in Cherry Creek.
Sheriff Deputies say the remains belonged to Tyler W. Chase of Jamestown, who was reported as a missing person on May 15, 2014. No foul play is suspected.
Chase was last been seen at his parents’ home in Charlotte. For several weeks a search was underway in the area to try and locate him, with assistance provided by several volunteer fire companies and the New York State Forest Rangers. After two months, the search was called off.
Prior to this disappearance, the Jamestown Post-Journal reports that Chase was wanted in Pennsylvania on charges related to child endangerment and corruption charges for allegedly providing alcohol to minors. The Lakewood-Busti Police Department also had active warrants out for him.
