MAYVILLE – The manhunt for an escaped prisoner who was appearing in Town of Charlotte Court late Tuesday morning continues.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s office says it has yet to locate 34 year-old Jacob Raynor of Sinclairville. Raynor was appearing in town court on a drug charges when he reportedly ran off while being escorted back to a patrol car.
The Post-Journal says that Raynor was reportedly handcuffed with hands in front, rather than behind him, due to an injury. That was likely the reason why he was able to escape, with Sheriff Joe Gerace also saying the deputy escporting Raynor did nothing wrong.
Raynor is not believed to be armed or dangerous. He is described as 6 feet tall, 170 pounds and was last known to be handcuffed and wearing a black shirt and black hat.
Anyone with information on Raynor’s whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1 or contact the Sheriff’s Office at 753-4231.
