SINCLAIRVILLE – A Sinclairville man has been arrested by local authorities for allegedly making methamphetamine in his town of Charlotte home.
According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, on June 29 sheriff deputies and the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force responded to a complaint of a suspicious situation at 3371 Charlotte Hill Rd. in the Town of Charlotte. At this time authorities located a quantity of items used in the manufacturing process of methamphetamine and a working methamphetamine lab.
A further investigation lead to police obtaining a search warrant for a vehicle that was located at the same address and an additional quantity of precursors used to make methamphetamine were seized.
Through investigation it was determined that the items seized allegedly belonged to 24 year-old Jonah K. Warner.
An arrest warrant for one count of Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine in the 3rd Degree was issued for warner and he was subsequently located and arrested. Warner was subsequently arraigned in the Town of Charlotte court and then committed to the county jail on $20,000 bail, pending further action of the court.
The Sheriff’s Office says a quantity of methamphetamine oil was also seized and after this evidence is processed at the crime lab, additional charges will be brought against Warner.
Due to the toxic nature of the seized items the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force requested the New York State Police CSSERT come to the scene to collect evidence and take all contaminated items for proper destruction.
