STOCTON – A four-legged member of the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department helped to track down a suspect in Stockton who tried to hide from authorities trying to serve arrest warrants.
Chautauqua County Sheriff deputies say were in Stockton Wednesday night trying to serve active warrants to 22 year-old Spencer Burke. However, deputies say that Burke allegedly ran out the back door of his home when they arrived, and ran into an overgrown field and swamp in an effort to hid. Investigators called in K9 Drago to the scene and he and his handler conducted a search of the area. K9 Drago was able to successfully track and locate Burke – who was reportedly dressed in camouflage and hiding in a thick brush area behind his residence.
Burke had active warrants in the Town of Stockton for Criminal Tampering and 3 counts of Petit Larceny. He is being held at Chautauqua County Jail on $5,000 cash bail.
