The 2013 elections are tomorrow and will feature several important local and county-wide offices up for grabs. In addition to the race for county executive and county clerk, voters will also select their county legislature, as well as their city and town representatives. Several races for state and local judges will also be on the ballot.
In addition to electing representatives, judges and executives, New York residents will also decide on six statewide ballot propositions.
The first is to authorize casino gaming in New York State. If passed it would add seven new casinos statewide. The second would allow for additional civil service credits for veterans with disabilities. The third would give counties, cities, towns and villages ten years to exclude construction or reconstruction of sewage facilities from their constitutional debt limits. The fourth and fifth have to do with forest preserves and authorizing mining in certain parts of the state. And the sixth would increase the maximum age certain state judges can serve until.
