MAYVILLE – It was another day of testimony in the double murder trial of Davide Coggins Tuesday in Chautauqua County Court. Coggins is accused of taking part in the 2013 home invasion and double homicide of Gordon and Joyce Skinner of the Town of Carroll.
During Tuesday’s testimony, co-defendant Ricky Knickerbocker took the stand for the prosecution, saying that Coggins was the one who lead him and the two other men to the Skinners home the night of April 16 2013. The couple was found dead inside the home the following day.
Public Defender Ned Barone tried to poke holes in Knickerbocker’s testimony by portraying him as a drug addict who changed his story multiple times. He also pointed out that Knickerbocker is testifying against Coggins in exchange for a plea deal with the Public Defender.
The trial will resume this morning in county court.
