JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Public Schools will hold a public forum tonight which will be the first of its kind in the school district.
The goal of tonight’s forum, which will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. – is for the school board to gather input regarding the 2014-15 budget. According to Jamestown School Superintendent Tim Mains, by working in small groups, the forum will collect the community’s input and priorities on every part of next year’s spending plan. Anyone with an interest in the future of various school programs or the spending plan is encouraged to attend.
Once the information is collected, it will be used by the superintendent and school board to craft a new budget, which needs to be completed and presented to the public by the end of April. It will be voted on during the annual school board elections and budget vote in May.
The meeting will take place in the JPS Board of Education Meeting Room at 197 Martin Road and is open to the public.
