JAMESTOWN – A major revenue stream for the city of Jamestown is looking better than expected, at least for the first quarter of this year.
Jamestown finance director Joe Bellitto last week released the first quarter sales tax revenue numbers for the city, saying the revenue line was up $83,847, or 6.13 percent, compared to the same time period last year.
The total sales tax revenue for the quarter was just over $1.45 million, nearly 25 percent of the $6 million that was included in the final city budget.
