SALAMANCA – A highly potent mix of heroin is the likely cause of at least four separate overdoses in Salamanca, one of which was fatal.
According to a report in the Jamestown Post-Journal, the overdoses all occurred within a 24-hour period between Wednesday and Thursday (April 15-16). Of the four victims, one died and the other three were saved by first responders administering naloxone.
Police said the heroin was packaged in small white or clear wax baggies with no markings. Anyone with information on the source of the drug is asked to call the Southern Tier Regional Drug task force tip line at 800-328-3784.
