The first annual “Rural Mobile Unit Health Fair” is set to take place this Wednesday in Chautauqua County.
The event is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 25 at the Abbe Reformed Church in Clymer, located at 595 Clymer Sherman Road.
Over 30 various community health partners will take part, including the Windsong Mobile Unit, the new Chautauqua County Mobile Health Vehicle, and the Molina HealthCare mobile unit.
The Clymer Central School District Food Truck will be providing breakfast and lunch items for the attendees. The first 100 in attendance will receive a free lunch ticket, sponsored by UPMC Chautauqua, after they have completed their rounds with the service providers.
UPMC will also be offering free blood pressure checks and screenings at their tables.
The Chautauqua Center’s mobile unit will be on site and will be available for vaccinations, walk-in health care and general health related questions. Windsong will be available for mammograms and general cancer related information.
The Veterans Administration will also be on site to assist local veterans who attend. Furthermore, there will be insurance enrollers for those who have questions about, or are wanting to sign up for, health insurance.
Parking and access to the event is in the large back parking lot. There is a community Hitching Post available for buggies too. Abbe Reformed Church is providing baked goods and coffee throughout the day. There will also be door prizes.
If you are not able to attend this health fair, a similar mobile unit health fair is being planned for the spring. Any questions can be directed to Judy Wroda of Southwestern Independent Living Center at 716-450-3960.
