ITHACA – Wednesday was the deadline for candidates in the 2014 federal election to submit their third quarter fundraising statements to the Federal Election Commission.
According to organizers from the Martha Robetson Campaign, the Tompkins County Democrat raised over $515,000 in the third quarter of 2014, bringing her total raised to over $2 million. Robertson is squaring off against Congressman Tom Reed (R-Corning) in New York’s 23rd District – which includes Chautauqua County.
According to the Robertson campaign, nearly 7,500 individual donors have contributed so far to her election. That is in contrast to Congressman Reed, who’s primarily seen his contributions come from Special Interest groups and PACs located outside of New York State.
Both Robertson and Reed will be interviewed by WRFA, with their comments being broadcast on Thursday, Oct. 30 at 6 p.m. during our Community Matters program.
