JAMESTOWN – The Resource Center will host an information forum on Tuesday, April 10 in the Jamestown area and Tuesday, April 17 in Dunkirk to provide more details on a new delivery support system it will be utilizing.
According to a media release from The Resource Center, New York State is preparing to change its system for delivering supports to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and The Resource Center will host two forums this month to explain those changes.
The State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities is transitioning from a Medicaid service coordination model to a care coordination model of delivering services.
Six care coordination organizations have been selected across the state; The Resource Center has aligned with Person Centered Services, which will provide care coordination in 18 counties in Western and Central New York beginning July 1.
To help people with developmental disabilities and their families understand the pending changes, the Resource Center will host an informational forum from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, in its administrative offices at 200 Dunham Avenue in Jamestown.
A second local forum will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, in TRC’s facility at 186 Lake Shore Drive West in Dunkirk.
