Reg Lenna to Feature Three Classic Films, Art Exhibit Opening on Valentine’s Weekend

JAMESTOWN – Valentines Day is just around the corner and the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts has several events planned to help couples enjoy the special occasion.

Three classic romantic films will show at Reg Lenna Center for The Arts on Valentine’s weekend. Casablanca (6pm) and When Harry Met Sally (8pm) will screen on Saturday, February 14. The price for this double feature is $5. On Sunday, February 15, The Reg will show The Princess Bride at 2pm for $5 a seat.

Casablanca, the 1942 romantic drama, won Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Screenplay. It stars Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman and runs for 102 minutes. The 1989 film that started the rom-com craze, When Harry Met Sally, stars Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan. It is rated R and is 96 minutes long.

The Princess Bride will be shown at the Reg Lenna on Sunday, Feb. 15 at 2 p.m.

The director of When Harry Met Sally – Rob Reiner – also helmed the comic fairy tale, The Princess Bride. Starring Cary Elwes, Robin Wright and Mandy Patinkin, it is rated PG and is 98 minutes long.

The Reg will next show the Oscar-nominated story of Stephen Hawking and his first wife, Jane in The Theory of Everything – February 21 at 8pm and February 25 at 7pm. The film is nominated for Best Picture, Best Actor (Eddie Redmayne), Best Actress (Felicity Jones) and several more. It is rated PG-13 and is 123 minutes long.

FLAMENCO ART EXHIBIT OPENS FRIDAY

Also just in time for Valentine’s Day is the opening of the Flamenco! art exhibit at 3rd on 3rd Gallery. The exhibit will open Friday, February 13 with a public reception for the artists beginning at 6pm. The show will remain open through March 13.

Local and regional artists display their Flamenco-inspired art, warming up the coldest months of the year. Artists include Bob Harris, Ella Medicus, Lauren Truby, Karen Carlton, Katherine Turnquist, Deborah Lanni, Carrie Saddler-Tredo, Hannah Wright, Connie Bahan, Amanda Cox and Lucie Smailes.

Be sure to also see Soul of Flamenco onstage at Reg Lenna Center for The Arts on February 24.

Shows at 3rd on 3rd Gallery are made possible by grant support from New York State Council On The Arts.

3rd On 3rd Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10am until 4pm when exhibits are offered.  Private viewings may be scheduled by calling 664-2465, ext. 227.  Additional evening and weekend hours will be posted online at reglenna.com.
