Congressman Tom Reed (R-Corning, NY 23) will make it official later today. The two-term Republican will be making campaign stops on the eastern side of the state’s 23rd congressional district to announce his intention to seek reelection. Today, the congressman will appear in Elmira and Geneva. On Wednesday, he’ll make the announcement in Chautauqua County.
Reed was first elected to Congress in November 2010. He became Chautauqua County’s representative after 2012 redistricting put the county into the 23rd District, with Reed winning reelection later that year.
His likely opponent for this year’s election will be Tompkins County Legislator Martha Robertson.
