WASHINGTON – Congressman Tom Reed (R-Corning) is announcing a yet-to-be constructed healthcare center will receive a Federal grant for $702,667 through United States Health Resources and Services Administration.
The grant will be used to build a new medical facility known as The Chautauqua Center, which Reed says will provide critical access to quality healthcare for rural residents in Chautauqua County. The Chautauqua Center already serves the Dunkirk area, but is looking to expand its operation to assist residents living in the more rural areas of the north county.
The Chautauqua Center was granted the award as part of their efforts to provide accessible healthcare to rural areas. Although the exact location of the facility is still being determined, the new access point is expected to serve roughly 5,000 people in the first year.
The Chautauqua Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center providing family medicine and wellness outpatient services to individuals of all ages.
