MAYVILLE – Chautauqua County sheriff James Quattrone was sworn into office New Years Day at noon during a ceremony at the Chautauqua County Court House.
Quattrone defeated previous sheriff Joe Gerace during the November election, ending Gerace’s 6-term reign as the county’s top law enforcement official.
According to the Post-Journal, Quattrone’s first official act as the new county sheriff was to swear in Darryl Braley as the new undersheriff for the county. Braley will be replacing Charles Holder, who announced his retirement following Gerace’s loss in November.
