JAMESTOWN – The James Prendergast Library will be hosting a critical discussion tonight that is free and open to the public.
The featured speaker for tonight’s event will be United Way of Southern Chautauqua County Executive Director Tory Irgang, who will lead a discussion about “The Status of the Community.”
Irgang will specifically address two details that stood out in the United Way’s 2013 Community Status Report – the increase in the local teen pregnancy rate and lack of growth in the median household income of the community.
Although the United Way has done community assessments intermittently for the last 20 years, she said there hasn’t been a new one until now since a Community Report Card in 2006.
The event is free and open to the public and will begin at 7 p.m. tonight in the Prendergast Library Fireplace Room. The audience is encouraged to ask questions and contribute to discussion. For information, call 484-7135.
