WASHINGTON – It’s an historic day in the nation’s capital as members of Congress will hold a joint session to hear from the leader of the Catholic Church.
Pope Francis will address congress Thursday morning at 10 a.m. During his speech, he’s expected to address a wide-range of issues, including climate change, immigration, and rebuilding ties with Cuba.
Following a visit to Washington, the Pope will arrive in New York City Thursday afternoon. The Pope will have a full schedule of events, including evening prayer at St. Patrick’s Cathedral this evening.
On Friday, the Pope will address the United Nations General Assembly in the morning, then visit Our Lady Queen of Angels School in East Harlem, and conclude with Mass at Madison Square Garden in the afternoon.
He will depart for Philadelphia on Saturday morning.
