JAMESTOWN – Investigators with the Jamestown Police Department are looking into an attempted robbery that took place Sunday morning at the U.S. News store in the Family Dollar Plaza on E. Second St.
City police say at about 9:15 a.m. Sunday, an unidentified female entered the store and handed the employee behind the counter a note demanding money from the register. The employee tried to activate the alarm and the suspect then shoved the employee and then fled the scene, without taking any money. Police say she then fled west on E. Second St.
The female is described as being white and being in her late 20s or early 30s and was about 5’5″ to 5’7″ and weighing about 120 lbs. She was wearing a brown Carhart jacket with a brown winter hat and a green scarf.
